HASHIMOV AMONG LEADERS AT GRAND PRIX TOURNAMENT
Baku, May 14 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani grandmaster Vugar Hashimov has strengthened his position at the top of the Grand Prix tournament in Astrakhan, Russia, after a 4th round draw with Ukrainian Pavel Eljanov.
Hashimov, who has 2.5 points, shares the lead with Ernesto Inarkiev, Boris Gelfand, Peter Leko, Ruslan Ponomaryov and Pavel Eljanov.
Other Azeri grandmasters Shahriyar Mammadyarov and Teymur Rajabov drew with Armenian Vladimir Akopian and Russian Peter Svidler respectively.
The day`s other results are as follows: Vassily Ivanchuk 0-1 Ernesto Inarkiev, Peter Leko 0.5-0.5 Ruslan Ponomariov, Boris Gelfand 0.5-0.5 Wang Yue, Dmitry Yakovenko 0.5-0.5 Evgeny Alekseev.
