KOREAN YOUTH DELEGATION VISITS CARPET MUSEUM IN BAKU
Baku, May 14 (AzerTAc). A Korean youth delegation has today visited the State Museum of Azerbaijani Carpets and Decorative Applied Arts after Latif Karimov.
The visitors were informed that carpet-weaving was one the ancient folk arts of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani carpets can be categorized under several large groups and a multitude of subgroups. The true scientific research of the Azerbaijani carpet is connected with the name of Latif Karimov, a prominent scientist and artist. It was his classification that related the four large groups of carpets with the four geographical zones of Azerbaijan, Guba-Shirvan, Ganja-Kazakh, Karabakh and Tabriz.
The world`s famous museums exhibit Azerbaijani carpets as their rarest exponents.
