ABA CEELI HOLDS SEMINAR IN BAKU
Baku, 11 July,(AzerTAj) - American Bar Association Central European and Eurasian Law Initiative (ABA CEELI) held a seminar for Azerbaijani lawyers and prosecutors entitled “Supremacy of law and independence of judgesâ€.
The seminar was opened by US ambassador in Baku Anne Derse who said strong judicial system will be a basis for Azerbaijan to effectively use its potential as a regionalleader.
She stressed prosecutors and lawyers play significant role in ensuring strongjudicial system.
Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit John Walkeraddressed the seminar.
At a briefing following the seminar, Walker said he is going to have meetings withAzerbaijani officials, including parliamentarians and judges.
