Mulford meets Prime Minister
New Delhi, Jul 11 (PTI) U.S. Ambassador to India David C.
Mulford Thursday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discussthe progress on the Indo-U.S. nuclear deal.
Mulford had a meeting with Prime Minister at his 7, Race Course Road residence in the morning hours after Singhreturned from his three-day visit to Japan.
Later, Mulford drove down to the South Block and had a meeting with senior officials at the Prime Minister's Office(P.M.O.).
Mulford had Wednesday met the envoys of member states of the 45-nation Nuclear Suppliers Group (N.S.G.) here and soughttheir support for the nuclear accord.
Mulford impressed upon the diplomats that their countries should back the deal as it was in the interest of nuclearnon-proliferation system.
U.S. President George W. Bush and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had Wednesday discussed the progress on the nuclear deal when they met on the sidelines of the G-8 meet in Japan. PTI
