VILNIUS TO HOST AZERI MUGHAM CONCERT
Baku, May 12 (AzerTAc). Music lovers in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius, will have an opportunity to enjoy Azerbaijani mugham on Friday.
The concert will be co-organized by Azerbaijan`s ministry of culture and tourism and the musical council of the Lithuanian embassy in Baku.
According to Kestutis Kudzmanas, Lithuania`s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, the concert is “a brilliant opportunity for Lithuanian music-lovers to enjoy mugham, which has a thousand-year-old history”.
In addition to mugham pieces, the concert will feature Leyli and Majnun and Don Quixote symphonic poems by outstanding Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev, which will be performed by the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra.
