Tehran, May 12, IRNA – Secretary-General of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) Mohammad-Hadi Nejad-Hosseinian here on Wednesday called for closer cooperation among Asian parliaments to counter terrorism.

Addressing the opening session of the APA permanent committee meeting on political affairs, he also called for all-out cooperation among the regional parliaments against the Zionists' crimes in the occupied Palestinian lands.

Nejad-Hosseinian further underlined the need for implementation of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

He added that the nuclear disarmament and NPT would pave the way for establishment of peace and security throughout the Asian continent, urging all signatories to the accord to refrain from weakening or discrediting the NPT.

Condemning the atrocities of the Zionist regime in the occupied territories, he said such crimes are threatening Asia’s peace and security.

Nejad-Hosseinian underscored the need for implementation of the previous resolutions issued by the APA permanent committee meeting.
