World needs to extend all out support to Pakistan

Dubai, July 11 PPI: Visiting Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani says world needs to extend all out support to Pakistan which is playing role of front line state in the war against terrorism.

He was talking to Vice President & Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Muhammad Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum in Dubai. They discussed various issues including Pakistan's role in global war against terrorism, extremism,increased trade and economic cooperation between two countries.

Prime Minister said government is following a three-pronged strategy to deal with menace of terrorism and extremism. It comprises policy of dialogue with non-militants and those who laid down their arms. Use of force would be last optionin case there is any violation of agreement from other side.

A stable Afghanistan is in interest of Pakistan as well as of region and the world.

``We need increased trade and not aid from the world to help tackle issues of socio economic development, poverty, joblessness which are root causes of terrorism and extremism.'' Gilani sought UAE help and cooperation in various fields including energy sector, infrastructure development, expertise in port sector, particularly to made Gwadarseaport operational.

Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum appreciated Pakistan's role in war against terror and its credible intelligence sharing to curb terrorism and extremism which is a threat toworld peace and stability.

He assured all out support and said UAE would encourage its private sector to make further investments in Pakistan in various fields particularly in energy and realestate sectors.
