TURKEY'S MILITARY ELECTRONICS FIRM TO COOPERATE WITH JORDANIAN FIRM

ISTANBUL (A.A) - 11.05.2010 - Turkey's company which was established to meet communication electronics requirements of the Turkish army will set up a joint venture with a Jordanian firm.
Turkey's Aselsan Electronics Industry & Trade Corporation has reached an agreement with Jordan-based King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) to set up a joint venture and start production in Jordan, a company statement said.
The two companies have agreed to manufacture several ASELSAN devices in Jordan with domestic resources.
Aselsan and KADDB are expected to conclude their negotiations on the joint venture till the end of 2010.
Established in 1975 to meet the communications electronics requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces, Aselsan began its production at Macunkoy, Ankara facilities in 1980.

KADDB is the Jordanian research and development facility created to provide a one-stop solution for the supply of defence and commercial equipment optimised to the requirements of the Middle East.
