Larijani: Iran-Kuwait ties, deep-rooted

Istanbul, May 11, IRNA – Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said here Monday that Iran-Kuwait deep-rooted ties are a sample for the region.
Larijani, who was speaking to his Kuwaiti counterpart Jassim al-Kharafi, expressed satisfaction on the level of bilateral ties and hoped for further comprehensive improvement of them, particularly in economic field.
Referring to the convening of the Executive Committee of the OIC Inter-Parliamentary Union in Istanbul, he added, “Under such conditions that the Palestinian nation is experiencing a particular condition, it is expected that the Islamic countries would have a broader presence in defense of the Palestinians’ rights.”
He added, “Organizing such gatherings can play good and effective propagational and political roles, which is why Iran has proposed the establishment of a permanent committee to pursue the Palestinians’ right, but implementing the decisions made at them is of greater importance.”
Kuwait’s parliament speaker, too, stressing the need for strengthening bilateral relations said, “The important point is that in regional relations we should no suffice in organizing gatherings.”
Jassim Al-Kharafi added, “I hope the present parliamentary delegations at this gathering would materialize Iran’s proposal for the establishment of a permanent executive committee to pursue the Palestinians’ issue in practice.”/end
