Salehi: Iran receives new offers on fuel swap

Tehran, May 10, IRNA -- Head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi said on Sunday that Tehran has received new offers on fuel swap.
Speaking to reporters, he said Iran has sought objective guarantee to make sure that it will receive 20 percent fuel for Tehran medical research reactor in return for 3.5 percent enriched uranium Iran produced to fuel the power plants.
Iran has already called for the fuel swap based the formula which is delivery of 3.5 percent of enriched uranium for 20 percent fuel, he said.
Salehi said that Iran has received several proposals from different countries and is currently considering them.
“We merely call for an objective guarantee for the fuel swap,” Salehi said./end
