Sports official appreciates IRNA's performance
Tehran, May 10, IRNA -- Head of Physical Education Organization Ali Saeedlou said here on Sunday that the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) enjoys the most influential role inside and outside Iran.
He made the remarks in a meeting with IRNA managing-director, editors and reporters during his visit to the news agency's headquarters this morning.
Saeedlou, who is also the vice-president said that the media exercise active role in shaping the public opinion in modern world.
"The correct, precise and quick dissemination of news and information are very sensitive and crucial task."
He said that IRNA also enjoys a special position in the country since the agency moves along principles and policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He called for active participation of IRNA journalists in coverage of international events particularly the sports competitions./end
