Two dead in separate drowning incidents
Two people drowned in NSW on Sunday.
A 42-year-old man from St Ives died after he was found floating face down in the
water at Dee Why, on Sydney's northern beaches, just after 3pm (AEST).
Police say two male surfers found the man and dragged him to shore. They performed
CPR and he was taken to Mona Vale Hospital where he later died.
Earlier on Sunday, a 46-year-old woman died on the central coast.
The woman, from Wyoming, was diving about 100m off Terrigal Beach with another woman
when she struck difficulties about 2pm (AEST), police said.
Two female swimmers and a nearby boat went to her aid, but they were unable to pull
her from the water or give her CPR.
A second boat took the woman to shore, where she was treated by paramedics but died
in Gosford Hospital a short time later.
