Mideast's largest car manufacturing site inaugurated

Kashan, Isfahan Prov, May 9, IRNA – The Mideast's largest car manufacturing site was inaugurated in Kashan, central Iran, Sunday morning in presence of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

“Saipa Kashan”, with the objective of manufacturing national cars such as S-81 and Saipa 111, was opened here as the largest car manufacturing site in the Middle East region.

The factory, built on a 318-hectar land, has the annual capacity of manufacturing 150,000 S-81 and Saipa 111.

According to reports, the construction of the factory has cost over rials 4,000 billion, the major part of which has been spent on purchasing machinery, facilities and production lines.

Following the official inauguration of the factory, the President and his entourage inspected different sections of the plant.

President Ahmadinejad is accompanied by Minister of Industries and Mines Ali-Akbar Mehrabian and Managing Director of the Saipa Kashan Nematollah Poustindouz. The president is to deliver a speech on the
occasion.
