Group of foreign Iranologists pay tribute to late Imam

Shahr-e Rey, Tehran Prov, May 8, IRNA – A group of professors of the Persian language and literature along with Iranologists from 12 world countries paid tribute to the Father of the Islamic Revolution, the late Imam Khomeini, on Saturday.

While attending the late Imam’s Mausoleum in southern Tehran, they laid a wreath at the tomb of the Founder of the Islamic Republic.

Iranologists from Turkey, Azerbaijan Republic, Armenia, Georgia, Russia, Italy, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, India and Pakistan were among the visitors of the late Imam’s mausoleum.

Meanwhile, head of the Persian language department of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) Qahraman Soleymani told IRNA that the professors and Iranologists have been guests of his organization in the past one week.

During their stay, the foreign guests have so far visited the Tehran Book Exhibition, Persian Language and Literature Academy, National Library and several other cultural sites, Soleymani added.

He further announced that the guests will travel to the holy city of Qom this afternoon to visit Ayatollah Najafi Mar’ashi’s Library./end
