Supreme Leader’s viewpoints will abort US threats: Lebanese cleric

Beirut, Lebanon, May 8, IRNA - A senior Lebanese cleric said Saturday that the wise viewpoints of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, would abort US threats against Iran.
“The wise viewpoints of the Supreme Leader on running Iran’s political affairs, its peaceful nuclear program in particular, would make US threats against the country futile,” Ayatollah Mohammad-Hossein Fazlollah told IRNA exclusively.
Noting that the US was unlikely to wage an atomic war against Iran, he said that the recent threats of the US President, Barack Obama, against the country was nothing but a “psychological warfare.”
Touching upon Iran’s key role both in the Arab and Islamic states, the ayatollah said , “What happens in Iran influences the whole Arab and Islamic world as the country plays a key role in supporting Palestine.”
He also stressed the crucial role of media in the Islamic world, noting that the media of the Islamic states, IRNA in particular, shouldered a heavy burden in media war of the world’s arrogant powers against Muslims./end
