SURVEY REVEALS UNEMPLOYMENT IS MAIN PROBLEM HERE


Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Majority of respondents in a survey said an unemployment is the main socio-political or economic problem in Mongolia today.
In a April 2010 survey, carried out by "Sant Maral" foundation, 38.6 percent of respondents considered the unemployment is main socio-political or economic problem in Mongolia, 21.1 percent said that standards of living is the main problem, while 8 percent beleive the inflation is the key issue.
The representative sample of 1,200 respondents from Ulaanbaatar city and from Dornogobi, Dundgobi, Zavkhan, Khentii and Arkhangai aimags was collected from April 16 to April 23, 2010. The survey is sponsored by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation of Germany.
About present economic situation in Mongolia, 42.8 percent of respondent said "bad", 36.3 percent consider "not good, nor bad", 3.8 percent answered "good" and 6 percent said "very good".
In the survey, 29.5 percent considers the economic situation is in decline, 47.5 percent said it is in stagnation, while 14.3 percent said it is improving.
In five years, the economic situation will be slightly better, said 40.2 percent of respondents, much better--4.4 percent and will remain the same--20.2 percent.
To a question "how much are you satisfied with the Democracy and present political system?", 18.8 percent said they are satisfied, 39.4 percent--rather satisfied, 22.2 percent--rather not satisfied and 16.7 percent--not satisfied.
In a question "if parliament elections were held tomorrow, which party would you vote for?", 35.1 percent favors the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party, 39.5 percent supports the Democratic Party, 4.5 percent encourages the Civil Will Party and 5 percent believes the New National Party.
For the question of "which country is the best partner for Mongolia?", 75.7 percent favored Russia, 18.8 percent supports China, 27.4 percent said the USA, 10.6 percent--European Union, 15.8 percent--Japan and 11.4 percent--South Korea.
