Chulalongkorn Hospital resumes full outpatient services
BANGKOK, May 6 (TNA) – Chulalongkorn Hospital on Thurday resumed full operation for outpatients after being closed since April 30 while after-hour service clinics are scheduled to resume Sunday.
Hospital director Dr Adisorn Patradul said that the outpatient services are fully operational at the Bhor Por Ror Building, including the emergency ward, delivery rooms and X-ray units.
A crowd of old and new outpatients has already formed a queue, awaiting early morning health check-ups after six days of service suspension.
Regarding the extended service clinics outside official hours, Dr Adisorn said that the hospital will resume services on Sunday.
However, two buildings for inpatients remain closed as the hospital is improving its safety system and installing closed-circuit televisions around the building premises.
Meanwhile, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on Thursday morning made a personal visit to Chulalongkorn Hospital to encourage and give morale supports the medical staff and the patients.
Chulalongkorn Hospital, located near the Red Shirt anti-government protests adjacent to Lumpini Park, suspended services for outpatients and transferred over 100 patients to other hospitals April 30 after protesters stormed the hospital on the night of April 29.
A group of anti-government Red Shirts led by one of the leaders, Payap Panket stormed the hospital, searching for troops after receiving information indicating that 200-300 military personnel were on hospital premises preparing to disperse the protesters. (TNA)
