Iran calls for further boosting co-op with Pakistan

Tehran, May 5, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister in Asia and Pacific Affairs Mohammad Reza Fatollahi called for expansion of cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad in different fields.
In a meeting with the visiting Pakistan Punjab Province Parliament Speaker Rana Mohammad Eqbal here on Tuesday, Fatollahi referred to the deep-rooted and friendly ties between the two nations, but regretted that the current trade exchange level as well as cooperation in other fields are inadequate, according to a report from the Foreign Ministry Media Department.
Underlining Iran’s support for Pakistan's prosperity and security, Fatollahi expressed hope that the implementation of the gas pipeline project between the two countries would bring honor for the Islamic world.

He called for more cooperation between the two countries in different economic, trade, energy fields and fight against terrorism.
Praising Iran’s independent policies in international affairs, he expressed Pakistan's full support for Tehran in international organizations.
