Canadian model found dead in China
Beijing, Jul 10 (PTI) Chinese police have said a young Canadian model was found dead in her apartment in thecountry’s economic hub Shanghai had been murdered.
Police received an emergency call in the early hours on Monday about the death of 23-year old Diana O’Brien and her body was found at her residential building, a ShanghaiMunicipal Public Security Bureau spokesman said.
O’Brien, who media reports said worked for a Shanghai- based modelling company identified as J. H. Model Agency,entered China on June 24, official Xinhua news agency said.
The spokesman provided no other details, saying aninvestigation was underway, it said.
An online description of the company said it was "one of the leading modelling agencies in East of China for over 100models"from different countries.
The agency official website could not be accessed Wednesday and the company’s phone number was always busy, suggesting it was an invalid number, Xinhua said. PTI
