Over 6,000 academicians sign petition condemning Obama’s nuke threat

Tehran, May 4, IRNA – Obama's Anti-Iran Nuclear Threat Campaign has so far managed to collect signatures of 6.734 members of Iranian universities’ scientific boards, it was announced here Monday.
The Association of Islamic Iran’s University Academicians in a letter addressed to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has objected to the US President Barack Obama’s nuclear threat against Iran.
The latter part of the letter which shows the signatures of 6.734 university academicians, reads, “UN Charter reads that the UN member countries should in their international relations refrain from exertion of force against the territorial integrity, or the political independence of any other country.
“Despite such reiterations, on April 6th, 2010 the US Administration signed a document called Surveying the US Nuclear Stands, inclusive of baseless accusations against Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, following which both the US president and the US secretary of defense, based on fully erroneous pre-suppositions that Iran is after acquiring nuclear bombs and breaching the articles of the NPT, made warmonger remarks that are in direct contrast with the souls of the UN Charter and the NPT.”
Referring to the dark record of the United States in taking advantage of the nuclear weapon and that country’s assistance with the usurper Zionist regime in acquiring hundreds of nuclear warheads, the academicians asked the UN Secretary-General to take serious and constructive steps aimed at reflecting the United Nations’ clear opposition against threatening the countries of attacks using the nuclear weapons./end
