ELBEGDORJ AND HU JINTAO MEET
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ On May the first, an official ceremony ran in Shanghai city to welcome Mongolia's State Head Ts.Elbegdorj. He is paying the state visit to the People's Republic of China (PRC).
The President of China Mr Hu Jintao greeted Mr Elbegdorj. The national anthems of the countries were played while the dignitaries stood on the podium after they had introduced official representatives to each other.
The dignitaries held talks after this ceremony. Mongolia's President Elbegdorj confirmed that one of the prior directions of Mongolia's foreign policy is to develop the good neighborhood and friendly relations and equal and the win-win cooperation between the two countries in sustainable period. Mr Elbegdorj appreciated a widening of the bilateral economic ties between Mongolia and China.
The President of China Mr Hu Jintao underlined that the Mongolian and Chinese people have long-year ties. He pointed out Mongolia is one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with China and mentioned that the sides successfully celebrated the 60th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations. He underlined that the development of the mutually beneficial cooperation with Mongolia is accorded with basic interests of China and added that this cooperation is very useful for the regional development and progress.
The Chinese side expressed its willingness to intensify implementation of the middle-term programs and to render financial and technical assistance to Mongolia for the biggest projects. China also put forward a proposal to the Mongolian side to develop collaboration in improving effectiveness of assistance rendered from China.
During the talks, Mr Hu Jintao said China decided to give assistance of CNY 40 million to Mongolia. He underlined that China wants Mongolia to play active role in the region. He said China wants to intensify exchanges in the humanitarian sphere and to develop cooperation in multilateral collaboration sectors.
Mr Hu Jintao pointed out that the World Expo 2010 is a big opportunity for developing countries to introduce and propagandize themselves, and urged Mongolia to utilize its opportunity to advertize itself to the Chinese people.
Mongolia's President said his country is paying a great attention to developing manufacture which gives final products from mining and animal husbandry. He requested the Chinese side to study an opportunity for Mongolian entities to open a line of commercial loans. He emphasized an importance of respecting history and national symbols of nations of the countries in an aim to strengthen the bilateral understanding and trust between Mongolia and China.
Mr Elbegdorj put forward some proposals to China such as deepening a collaboration in protecting environment and combating climate change, desertification and natural disasters.
Then the dignitaries exchanged views on the regional cooperation, including the central and northeast Asian collaboration. The Chinese side expressed its willingness to cooperate with Mongolia in strengthening Mongolia's nuclear weapon free status.
The Mongolian President pointed out that the goal of the bilateral cooperation is to bring the Mongolia-China relations into a newer level, and invited China's President to pay a visit to Mongolia.
Mr Hu Jintao thankfully received the invitation and wished a success for the state visit of Mongolia.
