Lebanese daily: Rafsanjani back to revolution’s camp

Beirut, April 27, IRNA – Beirut-based Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar wrote in its Monday edition Rafsanjani was an entire team all by himself, miscalculated post-election equation, but eventually returned back to revolution’s camp.

Arguing that Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani is now under the supportive umbrella of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khameneie, Al-Akhbar added in an article titled “The New Iran”, “Hashemi chose to remain silent during the first days after the Iranian presidential election, but after a while he supported the leadership and the system, arguing that he was opposed to any move against the leader, or in contradiction with his will.”

Al-Akhbar also opined, “Rafsanjani is now back in the revolution’s camp and is trying to also bring back three other major leaders of the reformists, namely former Iranian president Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Mohammad Khatami, Iran’s former parliament speaker Hojjatoleslam Mehdi Karroubi and the country’s prime minister during the Iraqi-imposed war Seyyed Mir-Hossein Mousavi.”/end
