CHAIRMAN OF PAKISTAN SENATE`S FOREIGN RELATIONS COMMITTEE MEETS MILLI MAJLIS SPEAKER

Baku, July 8 (AzerTAj) - Chairman of Pakistan Senate`s Foreign Relations Committee Mushahid Hussain Sayed met Friday with Milli Majlis Speaker Ogtay Asadov in Baku.

O. Asadov said his country attaches great importance to expanding relations with Hungary. According to him, reciprocal visits by presidents of both countries contribute to enhancing bilateral cooperation.

The Speaker stressed Azerbaijan actively participates in the global projects being carried out in the South Caucasus.

Mr. Asadov stressed parliaments play significant role in deepening intergovernmental relations. He pointed out both countries` parliamentary delegations share the same position within the international organizations.

O. Asadov also touched upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh. He thanked the Pakistani leadership for supporting Azerbaijan`s fair position on the dispute.

Mushahid Hussain Sayed, in turn, expressed satisfaction with meetings held in Baku.

According to him, there is great potential for expanding bilateral cooperation even more.

The sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest.

Head of the Milli Majlis Administration Safa Mirzayev, head of theAzerbaijan-Pakistan Inter-parliamentary Working Group Eldar Ibrahimov, as well as Pakistan`s ambassador to Azerbaijan Abdul Hamid were present in the meeting.
