RURAL BUSINESS DEV'T TO BE DISCUSSED


Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ An international conference themed “Empowering rural business development through quality information and ICT-Central Asia and Mongolia” will be held in a meeting hall at the Puma Imperial Hotel in Ulaanbaatar April 27-29, 2010.
Globe International, NGO in cooperation with Paris-based media NGO Internews Europe is organizing a three-day international conference with the financial support of the EU Asia Invest Programme in the framework of the project “Business Roaming”.
The conference will be attended about 90 guests and delegates from Mongolia, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Buryat and Kalmyk Republics of the Russian Federation and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. At the event, the representatives will share views, information and experiences on increasing the role of ICT on the basis of practices of their countries for Mongolian and Central Asian rural businesses.
Main objective of the event is to exchange information and experiences on the international level about Roles of ICT in rural business development; and investigate the feasibilities of collaboration; Exchange experiences and information between representatives of Mongolia and foreign countries with similar context (nomadic animal husbandry tradition/ on providing market information to empower rural entrepreneurs and businesses; Share experiences on different practices and existing services of rural business information in these countries to answer the needs and issues of rural entrepreneurs; evaluate success and limits, exchange ideas, and come up to a common “best practice”.
The conference will be attended by representations from Rural SME & herders associations; ICT experts/providers; projects and programmes being realized on international and regional level; Business information services; international organizations, government and non-government organizations.
