"Great Prophet V" maneuver poses threat to US: Commander

Bandar Abbas, Hormuzgan prov, April 26, IRNA -- Deputy commander of Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps’ (IRGC) Naval Force said here on Sunday that the "Great Prophet V" war games that demonstrate Iran's capabilities pose a threat to the very foundation of the US.

Talking to reporters after the end of the maneuver, Admiral Ali Fadavi said that the exercise was conducted stage by stage and went on schedule, as in the previous undertakings.

It was conducted under a certain circumstances and had positive impacts, he said.

Referring to the threats posed by the enemies, he noted that this time also it was undertaken following the stupid threats by certain foes.

“We conducted the Great Prophet Maneuver in one of the most sensitive points of the world to both showcase our capability to establish security for the country and other regional states and can pose threats to their enemies,” he said.

“We are able to threaten the bases of the US everywhere in the Persian Gulf, Hormuz Strait and free waters,’ Fadavi said.

IRGC started military exercises code-named “Holy Prophet V” in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz on April 22.

The ground, air and naval units of the IRGC participated in the three-day exercise which is aimed at preserving the security of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, as the world’s key economic and energy routes./end
