Iran gives humiliating response to all US plots: Larijani
Yazd, April 26, IRNA -- Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Sunday that the brave Iranian nation has successfully overcome all conspiracies masterminded by the US and has given the global arrogance a humiliating response.
Speaking in the special ceremony to mark US's humiliating defeat in the Tabas desert in eastern Iran, Larijani added that, under the wise leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the Iranian nation has left behind the US plots and has entered a new phase in history.
Tabas in the central province of Yazd is a symbol of the Iranian nation’s resistance to US adventurism, he said.
Larijani said that the people in the province are proud of the US defeat in Tabas on April 25, 1980. The Majlis speaker said the "great satan" (US), was terrified with the event.
The historical event in Tabas was the zenith of confrontation between Iran and US, Larijani said, adding that the era of global arrogance is over for the US and the other bullying powers, Larijani said.
New economic powers have emerged in the world which can change the balance in favor of world nations and the US can no longer ignore them, he said.
They are desperate in resolving regional crisis in Afghanistan, Iraq and Lebanon and are seeking Iran’s views how to deal with them, he said.
Larijani said that they always try to hatch a new plot in dealing with Iran.
Before the Islamic Revolution, Iran was fully dependent on US in the field of economy and industries but the triumph of the Islamic Revolution ended the trend, he said.
After the Islamic Revolution, Iran attained significant progress and development in various scientific fields and the country's peaceful nuclear program is a breakthrough which bothers the enemies, he said.
Iran has made strides in aviation industry, economy and development projects, he said adding that the fact is that the enemies must confess to the reality that Iran is now regarded as a regional power which can leave impacts on regional developments.
On the emptiness of the so-called Middle East Peace Talks advocated by the United States, Larijani said that their words on Palestine and seizing construction of new settlements was a big lie, he said.
The Americans should understand that they cannot attain their goals through bullying policy, he said.
The vigilant Iranian nation will be on the scene and is determined to thwart all plots hatched by the enemies, Larijani said.
