Ikarus Co. willing to continue business with Iran

Tehran, April 24, IRNA -- A top official of Belgian Ikarus company here on Saturday said his company will be willing to continue cooperation with Iran in the future, though believing sanctions will definitely have impact on it.
Talking to IRNA, Robin Driessens, Manager of Ikarus, a pipe packaging and supplier enterprise affiliated to Vector Marketing Group , said there are better ways for the West to solve its problems with Iran other than sanctions so that they would not have any impact on business with the country.
"There are definitely better solutions for any problem," said Driessens when asked about sanctions and their likely impact on his company's cooperation with Iran.
He talked to IRNA here at the 15th International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition (April 23-26).
He noted that sanctions will definitely have impact on his company's activities in Iran.
"When sanctions are increasing and make business impossible for our company . Anyhow, we hope it would be more flexible in the future and the world would evaluate Iran in a better way," said Driessens, adding that some banks in Europe do not wish to work with Iran because of
He commented on current business conditions in Iran and cited such problems as payment and LC opening, calling on Iranian government to seriously think on their removal.
He said it is not easy to do business with Iran and that his company works with Iran through an agent.
He noted that his company at times receives good orders, times important ones, from Iran.
"There are difficulties for business in Iran though there are such difficulties when having business with other companies too: Payment conditions and letter of credit. "
He said there are some political things which block the way and make business not so easy.
He, however , said his company is willing to work with Iran and cooperate with it.
