Pakistani lawmaker demands that West respects Iran’s n. program
Islamabad, April 24, IRNA -- Senator Mushahid Ullah Khan of Pakistan Muslim League- N on Friday demanded of the west to respect Iran’s right to develop nuclear technology.
Talking to IRNA, the political leader said that a planned propaganda is underway against the Islamic Republic of Iran hich is highly condemnable.
“I strongly condemn the western pressure on Iran’s nuclear program”, he said.
Senator Mushahid Ullah Khan made it clear that Iran, being an independent state, has every right to make its policies and no other country should interfere with the affairs of the Islamic state.
“There has always been a threat to Iran from US and Israel but these countries would not be able to accomplish their evil designs against our brother Iran”, he believed.
He asked that if Israel can develop nuclear program, then why Iran is not permitted to do so. The politician added that Iran is a responsible state and that has been proved time and again.
Senator Mushahid Ullah Khan opined that the dual standards of west on Iran’s nuclear program are condemnable. “Contradictory policies should not be adopted against Iran”, the Senator stated.
Pakistani politician believed that the nuclear program of Iran is very important for the existence of Iran and Iran should not yield to any external pressure regarding its nuclear programme. “Iran has to maintain certain level of deterrence”, he said.
Expressing his views, the Senator said that the incumbent leadership of Iran enjoys full support of its public and cannot be pressurized over nuclear issue.
“West has always been suppressing Iran which is not justified”, Senator Mushahid Ullah Khan added.
The political leader said that the exercise of imposing new sanctions on Iran is totally illogical and a serious violation of human rights and international principles.
He said that polices of west have always been remained against Muslim states and they cannot see any Muslim country as nuclear power.
“Those countries that possess nuclear weapons and have used them in the past absolutely have no right to point out finger on Iran’s nuclear program”, the politician added.
Iran being the signatory of Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) can use nuclear energy for peaceful means yet US and west have been suspecting on Iran’s nuclear program saying that Iran is trying to build an atomic bomb, which Iran has strongly denied.
The United Nations Security Council has already imposed three rounds of sanctions against Iran. In addition, several western nations have warned that the Islamic republic will face harsher sanctions if it fails to halt its uranium enrichment program./end
