PRESIDENT RECEIVES STATE GOVERNOR FROM AUSTRALIA

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj received Thursday Mrs Marie Bashir, Governor of New South Wales, Australia.
The State Head welcomed Mrs Bashir who became the very first guest from Australian states to visit Mongolia. Elbegdorj said that Australia is one of the countries who support Mongolia's democratic reform. He underlined that Mongolian people appreciate significant assistance and support from the Australian government to overcoming of the transitional period and difficulties.
The President expressed his satisfaction with a present situation of the Mongolia-Australia relations and emphasized that one of the important guidelines of Mongolia's foreign policy is to widen the bilateral cooperation in trade, commercial and investment spheres.
In her turn, Mrs Bashir pointed out that many Mongolian students, being technically assisted by her country, study there majoring in various professions. She added that the Australian side has decided to prepare more professionals in mining engineering and mining law.
The dignitaries discussed ways of supporting an organization of a forum of investors for Mongolia in June 2010 in Sydney and an exhibition of Mongolian arts in the National Gallery of New South Wales state next year.
