KHAN BANK SELECTED BEST FOR SIXTH TIME

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Government of Mongolia and the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) select every year TOP-100 enterprises and TOP-5 commercial banks in recognition of their contribution to economic growth of Mongolia, the bank's website reported Thursday. Selection ceremony to name the best business entities of the year 2009 was successfully organized Wednwsday in Ulaanbaatar and the best entities were named.
Khan Bank has been awarded with the best bank among TOP-5 commercial banks of the year 2009. With branch units throughout the country, Khan Bank has been selected as one of TOP-5 banks for the 6th time. Organizers included competitive advantage in terms of financial performance, products and scope of service in criteria for choosing the leading bank among TOP-5 banks.
Khan Bank's liquidity ratio which stood at 21.8% in 2008 increased to 42.5% in 2009 while equity adequacy which was 12.7% in 2008 was increased to 19.3% in 2009, which is higher than 12%, prudential ratio set by Bank of Mongolia. In addition, Khan Bank's total deposit was increased by 28% compared to 2008 and the bank has become the first bank among Mongolian commercial banks to have ONE TRILLION MNT in total assets.
Furthermore 100% online system, that connects the 491 branches of the bank, has enabled its customers to get full range of financial services offered by the bank from everywhere at anytime.
Khan Bank is a substantial contributor to the development of the country and a leading tax payer. In addition the bank invested over MNT 768 million for education, arts and culture, rural development and wellbeing of people in 2009. Thus the bank has been awarded the “Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility" again.
In 2009, Khan Bank became the first bank in Mongolia that disbursed its 5 millionth loan and in terms of the quality of the loan portfolio; Khan Bank could maintain its loan portfolio's good quality. These led the bank to be awarded the abovementioned prestigious award.
