Thailand’s new envoy meets Iran's FM

Tehran, April 22, IRNA – Thailand’s new ambassador to Tehran here Wednesday presented a copy of his credentials to Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki.
In his meeting with Pichaie Isra Pakdi, Mottaki expressed hope that the two countries’ relations would further expand during the mission of the new Thai diplomat in Tehran, according to the Information and Media Head Office of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Emphasizing the need for balancing bilateral relations in political and economic fields, Mottaki said, “Parallel with improvement of economic ties, the political relations and consultations, too, need to expand and deepen.”
Mottaki further stressed the need for establishment of peace and stability in Thailand, adding, “Achieving such objectives through peaceful methods is quite possible.”
Isra Pakdi, for his part, said that the priority of the work plan during his mission is facilitating and expanding bilateral relations, adding, “Frequenting of the two countries’ officials to each others’ countries is a necessity.”
Isra Pakdi also said that he believes the two countries relations need to get more dynamic./end
