Iran: UAE’s remarks on Persian Gulf islands not real

Tehran, April 22, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman said here on Wednesday that UAE foreign minister’s remarks about the Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf are neither real nor well-considered.
Ramin Mehmanparast said misunderstanding over the ownership of Iran’s three islands of Lesser and Greater Tunbs and Abu Musa in the Persian Gulf can be cleared up through dialogue.
He added UAE leaders should avoid making remarks which would benefit the Zionists.
According to AFP, Emirati Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahayan likened Iran’s control of its three islands in the Persian Gulf to Israel’s occupation of Arab territories./end
