Iran president to start 2-nation African tour

Tehran, April 22, IRNA -- President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will start a three-day official visit to Zimbabwe and Uganda beginning Thursday.

He will be heading a high-ranking politico-economic delegation.

On the first leg of his two-nation tour, President Ahmadinejad will arrive in Harare, Zimbabwe. The Iranian delegation will then visit Kampala, Uganda.

President Ahmadinejad's three-day tour is in response to an invitation extended from his Zimbabwean and Ugandan counterparts Robert Mugabe and Yoweri Kaguta Museveni respectively.

President Ahmadinejad is scheduled to meet his Zimbabwean and Ugandan counterparts and discuss major bilateral, regional and international developments.

A number of agreements on trade and economic cooperation are expected to be signed during President Ahmadinejad’s two-nation tour./end
