Qld teachers told to supervise tests

(AAP) Queensland public school teachers have been told by the industrial umpire they must supervise the annual literacy and numeracy tests.

The Queensland Teachers' Union (QTU) and Australian Education Union have asked their
members not to supervise the NAPLAN tests, saying the results will be used to
compile league tables on the federal government's My School website.
Unions said the tests - of students in grades three, five, seven and nine - will
lead to unfair comparisons of schools.
But the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission on Tuesday ruled they must
supervise the tests.
