Malaysia ties with Iran strong despite sanctions- Chief

Kuala Lumpur, April 20, IRNA – Chief Executive of Malaysia’s MATRADE Noharuddin Nordin said Tuesday sanctions on Iran are ineffective in Malaysia’s trade relations with Iran.

Talking to IRNA in Kuala Lumpur, Nordin said likely sanctions on Tehran would not weaken Iran-Malaysia economic and trade cooperation.

Statistics show that the two countries had growing relations in recent years, he said adding that there is no hindrance to bilateral trade cooperation between the two states.

Referring to sanctions already imposed on Iran, the chief executive officer of Malaysia External Trade Development Cooperation (MATRADE) said they had no impact on Iran’s international relations.

The Malaysian chief added the Islamic Republic of Iran is an important country having large markets, and world nations are willing to have economic exchange with the country./end
