Cups king Bart Cummings in hospital

Legendary racehorse trainer Bart Cummings is in a Sydney hospital for observation
after suffering influenza for the past two weeks.
St Vincent's Hospital confirmed Cummings was admitted about midday on Monday and
would stay overnight under observation.
The hospital said he was in a stable condition but would not provide details of his
illness.
Media reports suggest he suffered an asthma attack and may have a viral infection.
Cummings has missed the past two Saturday race meetings of the Sydney autumn carnival.
He watched Oaks favourite Faint Perfume finish second in the race from his home but
was in constant contact with his stable representatives by phone.
It has been a sad weekend for Cummings with the death of Viewed who won the
Melbourne Cup in 2008 to give the trainer his 12th victory in Australia's most
famous race.
Viewed died at owner Dato Tan Chin Nam's Think Big Stud after suffering
complications from a twisted bowel.
At 82, Cummings is still a fierce competitor and has 259 Group One wins on his record.
