Gillard faints during pre-Anzac march
Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard has fainted during a pre-Anzac day march in
Melbourne, but made a quick recovery.
Ms Gillard collapsed on Sunday afternoon while walking in the RSL parade at Werribee.
She briefly sat on the ground until officials helped her onto a chair.
She was given water and made a rapid recovery, enabling her to finish the march.
A spokeswoman for Ms Gillard said the deputy PM fainted as a result of low blood
pressure, a pre-existing condition that she was aware of.
Ms Gillard says she is now okay, and will be back at work on Monday, the spokeswoman
said.
Ms Gillard fainted about 2pm (AEST) during the parade, held in her electorate of Lalor.
