President: Iran-Turkmenistan ties are interlinked, unbreakable

Tehran, April 17, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Friday that Iran-Turkmenistan ties are intertwined and unbreakable.

“The fraternal and bilateral relations will get further consolidated day by day in light of the will of the two countries’ officials,” President Ahmadinejad told his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow in a phone conversation.

He said big and constructive measures are on the agenda of both countries’ officials and both governments are determined to implement joint ventures to upgrade mutual ties in favor of their nations’ progress and development.

He thanked Turkmenistan for sending a delegation to attend the 1st International Conference on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation and said Turkmens’ presence in the meeting will be of high importance and value.

By following independent and humanitarian policies, Iran and Turkmenistan can move in line with dismantling of weapons of mass destruction and guaranteeing full security worldwide, he added.

Berdimuhamedow said in turn that he hoped the Tehran session will bear fruitful results to ensure global disarmament.

Noting that his country attaches great significance to ties with Iran, Berdimuhamedow said that full commissioning of the venture projects will benefit the Iranian and Turkmen nations./end
