HOUSE TO CONDUCT FIT AND PROPER TEST ON CANDIDATES FOR LPSK MEMBERSHIP

Jakarta, July 6 (ANTARA) - The House of Representatives (DPR) will conduct a fit and proper test on 14 candidates for the membership of the Eyewitness and Victim Protection Institute (LPSK) on July 7-9.
The 14 candidates consist of professionals in different fields, including lawyers, non-governmental organization activists, journalists, police officers, retired police officers, woman activists, retired civil servants, academicians, former human rights activists and former prosecutors, the Information Service at the DPR Secretariat General said on Saturday night.
Six of the 14 candidates will undergo the test on Monday. They are Abdul Haris Semendawai, Ahmad Taufik, I Ktut Sudiharsa, La Ode Ronald Firman, Lies Sulistiani and Lili Pintauli.
On Tuesday the House will conduct the test on Muh Yahya Sibe, Myra Diarsi, Ruswiati Suryasaputra and SA Supardi.
The candidates who will take the test on Wednesday are RM Sindhu Krishno, S Sugiyanto Andreas, H Teguh Soedarsono and Yoostha Silalahi.
At the end of the three-day test on Wednesday, the House Commission III for law, legislation and human rights will convene a plenary meeting to decide candidates eligible for the LPSK membership.
Earlier, the House Commission asked the general public to give inputs from June 26 to July 3 on the candidates announced in national and regional media.
