Iran-Brazil trade ties increased by 8% in few months

Tehran, April 14, IRNA – The visiting Brazilian trade minister announced on Wednesday that his country’s trade cooperation with Iran has been increased by eight percent in the past few months.

Talking to reporters, Brazil’s Minister of Development, Industry and Trade Miguel Joao Gorge Filho said bilateral relations between the two countries have witnessed a growing trend in the past five years.

He reiterated that the two countries’ presidents have played key roles in strengthening bilateral cooperation.

Terming his current visit to Tehran as positive, he said the Brazilian delegation had fruitful meetings with Iranian economic officials.

The two sides have reached agreements on trade and industrial cooperation, the Brazilian minister said, expressing hope that bilateral ties in various areas of trade, industry, mines and energy would witness further boost during the future visit to Tehran of the Brazilian president.

Iran-Brazil trade exchange hit dlrs 2.1 billion last year.

Jorge, heading a 120-memebr delegation arrived in Tehran on Monday.

This is the biggest Brazilian delegation in history of the two countries' relations visiting Tehran./end
