UAE diplomat: Ties with Iran, crucial
Dubai, April 14, IRNA – UAE Deputy Foreign Minister in political affairs Tariq al-Haydon underlined that relations with Iran have special importance for Abu Dhabi.
On the sidelines of consulate meeting between Iran and United Arab Emirates on Tuesday evening, he told IRNA that agreements have been reached in a number of issues and we hope they can be implemented soon.
Concerning expansion of ties with Iran, the official said that foreign minister and other UAE officials have underlined good neighboring relations with Tehran and intend to expand them.
He said that holding consulate meeting is one of the important points in bilateral relations.
In a consulate meeting which which was held in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, the two sides reached agreements about border guard, fight against drug smuggling, organized crimes and mutual judiciary cooperation./end
