President: Iraq is Iran's natural ally
Tehran, April 14, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a live interview with Iranian TV on Tuesday evening said that Iraq is Iran’s natural ally.
Concerning the latest elections in Iraq and predicting future relations and interaction level between the two countries, President Ahmadinejad said that Iran is natural, geographical and compulsory ally of Iraq.
He added that culture, religion, history, geography, border and many resources are common between us.
The president said that even our people are common, many Iranians were born in Iraq and many Iraqis were born in Iran and this is very usual here.
He continued that whoever comes to power in Iraq we have to work together.
Ahmadinejad said that we believe that in Iraq next government, the level of cooperation would be higher and a strong government in Iraq will have more cooperation with Iran and other countries of the region.
He stressed that Iraq is a country with a great nation and owns huge resources of culture and manpower./end
