Mottaki-Kenya CB Governor hold talks

Tehran, April 14, IRNA – Visiting Kenyan Governor of the Central Bank Njuguna Ndungu in a meeting with Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki discussed issues of mutual interest on Tuesday.

Referring to the importance of Kenya in east Africa, Mottaki stressed that Iran has always strived to expand cooperation between Tehran and Nairobi in all fields, according to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department.

Mottaki underlined designing a road map for bilateral ties, adding that Iran and Kenya can have a good cooperation in implementation of joint projects.

Iran’s capacity in trade is very high, and being a neighbor with 15 countries, Iran has the potential to become a regional trade center, Mottaki said.

He noted that the holding of meeting of Group 15 in Tehran next month is a good opportunity for expanding cooperation among members of the group.

Njuguna Ndungu, for his part, underlined his country's interest to develop ties with Iran and also called for promotion of banking cooperation between the two countries./end
