Iran: Threatening a nation of using n-weapons, indicates state-sponsored terrorism

United Nations, April 13, IRNA – Iran’s Representative to UN said here Monday that threatening a nation of using nuclear weapons is a clear case of state-sponsored terrorism.
Mohammad Khaza’ie made the above statement at UN Counter Terrorism Committee (CTC).
Asking for a frank encounter with terrorism phenomenon Khaza'ie reiterated, “Some countries should refrain from taking instrumental advantage of the matter merely aimed at pushing forth their expansionist objectives and dispatching armies to remote parts of the world, particularly to the sensitive Middle East region.”
Khaza’ie said, “How come although the entire world nation and government condemn terrorism we are witnesses to the ever expansion of this phenomenon with the passage of each new day? Is that not due to the existence of double standards, politicizing the matter, taking political advantage of the issue, and strengthening it by certain powers?”
He reiterated, “Iran is a victim of terrorism itself and has always been condemning this phenomenon and would continue to do so in the future.”
The permanent representative of Iran to the UN headquarters in New York referring to the recent letter written by the IRI president to the UN secretary general regarding the issue of arresting the terrorist Jondollah group’s head Abdol-Malek Rigi, reiterated, “The Islamic Republic of Iran recently managed to arrest that international terrorist who has killed 700 of our citizens and injured thousands more.”
Khaza’ie then elaborated on the various moves made by that terrorist group, adding, “There are clear indications proving that some major world powers, whose forces are occupying the region were supporting him.”
Iran’s envoy to the UN emphasizing the need for every UN member country’s commitment to the international rules and regulations.
Listing the malicious effects of terrorism over the security and advancement of the world nations’ economies and social development, Khaza'ie added, “Campaign against terrorism is an international and legal commitment and therefore, we should not permit it to become a pretext in the hand of powers used for violating the deprived world nation of their rights and occupation of their countries, and particularly for suppressing those nations that are struggling for the liberation of their occupied lands from foreign occupation on pretext of campaign against terrorism!”
He said that state-sponsored terrorism and resorting to military invasions aimed at suppressing oppressed nations is today a serious threat against international security and a clear violation of the human rights and the Geneva Conventions.”
Elsewhere in his address, Khaza’ie referred to the recent threat made by the US officials against Iran resorting to nuclear weapons, setting the matter as an example of a clear case of state sponsored terrorism and broad violation of the human rights and international laws.
He reiterated, “Threatening a UN member country and a member state of the NPT of attacking it using nuclear weapons is serious breaching of the international laws and should be condemned by the international community.”
Meanwhile, in another address as the repersentive of the Non Aligned Movement (NAM) member countries, declaring NAM’s stand regarding the need to encounter terrorist moves, he dealt in details with the matter of the oppressor countries’ taking instrumental advantage of the matter aimed at massacring the innocent people of the region./end
