Iranian MP: US should destroy all its nuclear weapons

Tehran, April 13, IRNA – Deputy Head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Ismaeil Kousari said on Monday that the US and western countries should remain committed to NPT and destroy all their nuclear weapons.
He made the remarks in a special celebration marking country’s nuclear achievements at the University of Science and Technology in Tehran on Monday.
Iran’s Supreme Leader has repeatedly expressed that Iran never seeks to build nuclear weapons which is regarded as a forbidden act in Islam, he said.
On recent threat made by US President Barack Obama against Iran, he said these remarks prove that the US president is very naïve in dealing with global developments.
“If they truly review their crimes and atrocities at the end of World War II, they would easily find out how they brought death and annihilation to world nations,” he said.
People of the world do not fear US treats any longer, he said.
He advised the officials in Islamic states to deal seriously with recent threats made by the US president.
Iran has lodged a compliant with the UN but we believe that they will ignore it, he said adding that the issue will be registered in the history forever.
They are to launch a psychological warfare against Iran to prevent its remarkable progress and development in various fields, he said.
Obama’s allegations have no sign of war or conflicts, he said adding that they will swiftly withdraw from their stands as they know that Iran is determined to vindicate its legitimate rights.
They know that they are too weak to confront Iran, he pointed out.
Iran is powerful enough to meet its demands without the help of others, he said.
Iran is now self-sufficient in construction of nuclear power plants, he underlined.
The US has sent a message to Iran calling for permission for their warships and naval fleets to sail in the Persian Gulf region, he said./end
