Envoy says Iraq keen on developing ties with Iran
Tehran, April 13, IRNA -- Iraqi Ambassador to Tehran Mohammad Majid al-Sheikh said Monday that expansion of all-out ties with Tehran is a priority of Baghdad’s foreign policy.
Talking to IRNA, he stressed that such a policy is the main unchangeable Iraqi strategic approach no matter who would lead the new Iraqi government.
The two nations are willing to further boost bilateral ties, he said, adding that foreign interference would not affect Tehran-Baghdad growing relations.
Praising the significant achievements of the Iranian nation in the area of nuclear technology, he voiced Baghdad’s support for the peaceful nuclear activities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Iraqi people are glad with recent nuclear achievements of their Iranian brothers, the ambassador noted./end
