STANDING COMMITTEE HEAD MEETS ITALIAN DELEGATION

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Head of the Parliamentary Standing committee on social policy, education, culture and science D.Arvin MP received Monday a delegation headed by Adolfo Urso, a Deputy Minister for International Trade, Ministry of Economic Development of Italy.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr Urso mentioned about the 40th anniversary of Mongolia-Italy diplomatic relations, and said the Italian business delegation arrived here to take part in an economic business forum of the two countries. He underlined that the forum has great importance in terms of getting au fait with some Italian companies who have invested in Mongolia and establishing direct ties between businessmen of Mongolia and Italy. He expressed a willingness to widen the inter-parliamentary ties and said the Italian MPs consider an issue of setting up Italy-Mongolia Parliamentary Group.
In turn, D.Arvin pointed out that high level visits between the two countries became stagnant after an official visit to Italy paid by head of Mongolia's legislative body in 2002. Mrs Arvin emphasized that a high level meeting of bilateral parliaments will significantly contribute to the Mongolia-Italy relations and cooperation, including inter-parliamentary ties.
Mrs Arvin, who has been working as a head of Mongolia-Italy parliamentary group at the State Great Khural from 2000, said she has received proposals and requests from the Italian side. She expressed a willingness to support contracts and negotiations established between the governments of the two countries.
