Sports Cricket Asia Cup success proves Pakistan is safe

Karachi, July 5 PPI: The successful organisation of Asia Cricket Cup will boost Pakistan's chances of hosting International Cricket Council Champions Trophy in September next, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Nasim Ashraf said.

"All kinds of security arrangements will be made for Champions Trophy," he said on
return here from ICC's executive board meeting in Dubai.

"I was assured in ICC's meeting by all members that they intend to participate in
Champions Trophy in Pakistan. We are very proud Asia Cup is organised in such a nice
and peaceful manner," Ashraf said. "It proves that Pakistan is a country where
cricket can be played safely."

New Zealand are also set to tour Pakistan for short three-match ODI series in
August, further enhancing Pakistan's chances. Ashraf met with Justin Vaughan, CEO
New Zealand Cricket, in Dubai where PCB chief was assured the tour would go ahead.
New Zealand will arrive on August 20 and series begins from August 24.
