YEMENI OFFICIAL MEETS WORKING GROUP OF YEMEN FRIENDS

SANA'A, April 07 (Saba)- Head of the Higher Committee for Tenders Mohamed al-Jonaid met here on Wednesday with representatives of Dutch and Jordanian governments of the working group on justice and rule of law emerged from Yemen's friend group Mr. Han-Maurits Schaapveld and Walid Ubaidat.

In the meeting, they discussed the cooperation aspects in the field of tenders , government procurement and training and supporting efforts to enhance the honesty ,equality and transparency in the work of bids.

Al-Jonaid reviewed during the meeting the process of reforms in the bidding system within the financial and administrative reforms agenda pursued by the government.

He pointed out that the reforms included the establishment of a higher committee for tenders financially and administratively independent, as well as the establishment of a supreme body for the control of bids.

The final touches are being finalized for the amendment and development of standard documents and guides of the works, supply and advisory services to keep pace with the new law and its executive regulations as well as reinforcement the transparency and accountability and simplification of procedures, al-Jonaid added.
