Iran-Azerbaijan ink customs agreement

Tehran, April 7, IRNA – Iranian and Azeri officials signed Tuesday an agreement on cooperation in the field of customs.

President of Iran’s Customs Office Ardeshir Mohammadi and the head of the Azeri delegation who is deputy head of the country’s customs office signed the agreement in Tehran.

Mohammadi said the two countries enjoy good level of cooperation but they should promote it in order to increase their trade exchanges.

The worth of annual trade cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan is dlrs 500 million, Mohammadi noted.

Meanwhile, the Azeri official said Tehran and Baku should further bilateral relations.

Referring to the Kyoto Customs Convention in which Iran and Azerbaijan are members, he said the two countries can take great steps towards fostering customs relations./end
